Voleybol İle İlgili İngilizce Terimler

Voleybol dünya çapında oynanan en popüler sporlardan bir tanesidir. Beceri, azim, hızlı refleks ve ciddi takım çalışması gerektirir. Eğer hâli hazırda voleybol oynuyorsan ve bu terimlerin İngilizcesini öğrenmek istiyorsan terimlere baktığında az çok aşina olduğunu fark edebilirsin.

Henüz voleybol ile ilgili hiç terim bilmiyorum ancak öğrenmek istiyorum diyorsan İngilizce-Türkçe tanımlarıyla birlikte voleybol terimlerini aşağıda detaylı olarak açıklayacağız. Hazırsak vakit kaybetmeden başlıklara geçelim.

Voleybol İngilizce Tanımı

Volleyball is a popular team sport played between two teams of six players each, separated by a high net. The objective of the game is to score points by grounding the ball on the opponent’s side of the court, within the boundaries of the court.

The ball is usually served over the net to the opposing team, and players must use various techniques, such as spiking, blocking, and digging, to return the ball over the net and prevent the other team from scoring. Volleyball is played both indoors and outdoors and is enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels around the world.

Voleybolda Kullanılan İngilizce Terimler

Ace – A serve that is so good that the opposing team cannot return it, resulting in a point for the serving team. (Rakip takımın karşılık veremeyeceği kadar iyi bir servis, toplam 1 sayı kazandırır.)

Fake attack -The movement of two players to hide the player who will hit the ball by rising to the net at the same time (İki oyuncunun asıl vuruş yapacak oyuncuyu saklamak için yaptığı hareket.)

Block – A defensive move in which a player jumps up and blocks the ball from crossing the net into their team’s side of the court.  (Bir oyuncunun zıpladığı ve topun fileyi geçerek kendi takımının sahasına girmesini engellediği savunma hareketi)

Dig – A defensive move in which a player digs the ball up off the floor with their arms to keep it in play. (Bir oyuncunun topu oyunda tutmak için kollarıyla yerden yukarı kazdığı bir savunma hareketi.)

Kill – An attack that is so powerful that it cannot be returned, resulting in a point for the attacking team. (Karşılık veremeyecek kadar güçlü olan ve saldıran takıma bir puan kazandıran bir saldırı.)

Set – A pass that is intended to set up a teammate for an attack. (Saldırı için bir takım arkadaşı kurmayı amaçlayan bir pas.)

Spike – An attack in which a player jumps and hits the ball over the net with force. (Bir oyuncunun zıpladığı ve file üzerinden topa kuvvetle vurduğu bir saldırı.)

Libero – A defensive specialist who can replace any back-row player without counting as a substitution. (Herhangi bir geri hat oyuncusunu oyuncu değişikliği olarak sayılmadan değiştirebilen bir savunma uzmanı.)

Middle blocker – A player who specializes in blocking the opposing team’s middle attacks.  (Rakip takımın orta saldırılarını engellemede uzmanlaşmış bir oyuncu.)

Outside hitter – A player who specializes in attacking from the left side of the court. (Sahanın sol tarafından saldırma konusunda uzmanlaşmış bir oyuncu.)

Setter – A player who is responsible for setting up their teammates for attacks. (Takım arkadaşlarını saldırılar için ayarlamaktan sorumlu bir oyuncu.)

Rotation – The process of rotating players clockwise on the court, which occurs after each side out. (Her bir taraf dışarı çıktıktan sonra gerçekleşen, oyuncuları sahada saat yönünde döndürme işlemi.)

Side out – The point at which the serving team loses the serve and the other team gains possession. (Servis atan takımın servisi kaybettiği ve diğer takımın topa sahip olduğu nokta.)

Serve – The act of putting the ball into play by hitting it over the net from behind the end line. (Topu bitiş çizgisinin gerisinden file üzerinden vurarak oyuna sokma eylemi.)

Block touch – A block that deflects the ball but doesn’t stop it completely, allowing the defending team to make a play. (Topun yönünü değiştiren ancak tamamen durdurmayan ve savunan takımın oyun oynamasına izin veren bir blok.)

Bump – A pass made with the forearms. (Ön kollarla yapılan bir pas.)

Carry – A fault in which the ball comes to rest on the player’s hands or arms. (Topun oyuncunun ellerinde veya kollarında durduğu bir hata.)

Dink – A soft attack in which the player lightly taps the ball over the net. (Oyuncunun file üzerinden topa hafifçe vurduğu yumuşak bir saldırı.)

Foot fault – A fault in which the server steps on or over the end line before contacting the ball.  (Servis atan oyuncunun topa temas etmeden önce bitiş çizgisine veya bitiş çizgisine adım attığı bir hata.)

Free ball – A ball that is returned over the net without a significant attack, usually as a defensive move. (Genellikle savunma hareketi olarak, önemli bir saldırı olmaksızın file üzerinden dönen bir top.)

Joust – A situation in which two opposing players jump and try to push the ball over the net to their own side.  (İki rakip oyuncunun zıplayarak topu file üzerinden kendi taraflarına doğru itmeye çalıştıkları bir durum.)

Overhand serve – A serve in which the ball is tossed into the air and then struck with an overhand motion. (Topun havaya atıldığı ve ardından overhand hareketiyle vurulduğu bir servis.)

Pass – A term used to describe any legal contact with the ball that is intended to control its direction and speed. (Yönünü ve hızını kontrol etmeyi amaçlayan topla herhangi bir yasal teması tanımlamak için kullanılan bir terim.)
